WEB 7th Grade Orientation

Welcome Harper 7th Grade Parents!

Dear Parents & Guardians,

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Harper Junior High School. This year at Harper your student will have many new and exciting experiences:  WEB will be the first!

Where Everybody Belongs (WEB), is an orientation program linking Freshman with incoming 7th graders. The WEB Leaders will help their 7thgrade “WEB Buddies” transition into junior high. Each WEB leader is paired up with 4 to 5 WEB Buddies. The WEB Leader will keep in contact with their WEB Buddies throughout the year.

The first time the WEB Buddies will meet their WEB Leaders will be at Orientation which will take place on Tuesday, August 27 from 8:00am to 12:00pm. This is an action-packed, informative day where 7th graders will get familiar with the Harper campus, connect with experienced Harper students, and get their class schedules and lockers!  Your 7th grader will NOT want to miss this great experience!

All 9th grade WEB Leader volunteers attend an intensive two day training to become WEB Leaders.  (No worries parents & guardians - there will be adult supervision during Orientation activities). On the Sunday evening before Orientation, the WEB Leaders will contact your child to let them know how excited they are to meet them and remind them of the orientation. If for any reason you would prefer not to have the Freshmancontact your student, please let us know. During the summer, Scott Thomsen or Cara Leppington can be reached at the email addresses and phone number at the bottom of this letter.

We can’t wait to see your 7th grade student on Tuesday, August 27th!  You can drop them off at 7:50 AM or so and pick them up around 1:00 PM.  We will take excellent care of your student, while giving students the opportunity to bond with each other and with their WEB Leaders.

While your 7th grade student is attending WEB, parents/guardians will complete the registration process. Registration for your seventh grader is from 8-9AM in the MPR. Please bring all your completed forms and discuss your student’s need for a planner, PE clothes, yearbook, etc. before you arrive. Students will not be available to assist with Registration, so please go over the contents of this packet with your 7th grader before they enter the WEB Orientation that morning.

Please feel free to contact us with questions or concerns – we’re happy to talk with you!  We look forward to meeting you.
